Erasmus+ Project: “Sustainable Mountain Tourism” – A Collaborative Journey in Innsbruck

By 23. Oktober 2025No Comments

… The participating schools are: Coláiste Ghlór na Mara from Ireland, BG/BRG/SRG Reithmannstraße from Austria, and Agrupamento de Escolas Francisco de Holanda from Portugal.

Participants explored Tirol’s innovative tourism strategies, attended green travel workshops tailored to eco-friendly hiking, and took part in two guided hiking tours through the breathtaking mountains surrounding Innsbruck. These hikes highlighted the region’s climate change adaptations and the environmental challenges facing alpine tourism. Furthermore, the participants enjoyed dinner at restaurants who work closely with local farmers and focus on sustainable cooking practices.

We would like to thank the following organisations who held excellent workshops: BahnZumBerg, Innsbruck Tourismus, Tirol Werbung, Naturpark Karwendel, Hermann Sonntag and Il Corvo.

The project’s core mission is to foster cross-cultural collaboration among students, encouraging them to engage with sustainability in meaningful ways. By connecting through nature and shared learning, the Erasmus+ experience in Innsbruck laid the foundation for future joint initiatives and a greener tomorrow.
